What would a student life be without events?
Trade organizes various events during the academic year to counterbalance studying! In the event selection you will find themed parties, afterwork with companies and much more meaningful.
Annual celebrations
Next celebration: 2026
Trade celebrates its anniversary every five years. Last, in November 2021, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of the association at the Radisson BLU Marina together with 200 guests!
The annual celebrations follow the etiquette, enjoy a three-course menu with accompanying drinks, and remember Trade from the past years.
The next anniversary will be celebrated in 2026, when Trade turns 30.
Overalls baptism cruise
First-year students, or freshers, have the chance to show off their brand-new overalls at the Baltic Sea at the Overall Party. During the evening, we take the Trade overall oath, have fun with friends and enjoy the magnificent sea views!
The overall baptism cruise is one of Trade's oldest and most beloved traditions, which has been held for over 20 years.
Since 2019, the Turku Student Association for Social and Health Services (TSTS ry) has also been involved.
Sitz
Sitz are academic table parties that combine drinking songs, good food and great company. Sitz serve a three-course dinner, sings traditional academic drinking songs and has fun with various games and competitions.
The dress code varies depending on the theme, but sitz always follow certain academic traditions, such as toasting and giving speeches.
Sitz are a great opportunity to get to know new people, network and create memorable moments in the student community.
City tour
The city tour is the highlight of the orientation week!
This traditional event takes place during orientation week and is a check-in tour to introduce new students to different places in Turku, such as parks, restaurants and bars.
At the same time, the tour groups business students from different fields with each other.
Music quiz
Trade's traditional Musavisa usually takes place on the 1st or 2nd Wednesday of each month, with the exception of the summer months.
Musavisa is held at The Cow cocktail bar, usually starting from 7 p.m.
The programme features relaxed and low-threshold quizzes led by the host. Juho Kiviranta, among others, has been the host in recent years.
ALV
The first ALV was organised in 2003 and the tradition has continued to this day.
The ALV party in 2023 was the 20th anniversary. In most years the venue has been Night Club Marilyn, and the dress code has traditionally been semi formal or black tie instead of overalls.
The evening program usually also includes various low-threshold competitions.
